Please help us achieve our goals!  We are 'Illuminating Lives with Helping Hands'.  This means that we seek to achieve change in our community through positive actions.  We know that you have a choice of which charities to support, and we really appreciate your consideration and support.   We have put together some Frequently Asked Questions to help you decide whether you'd like to donate to us.  Please feel free to e-mail us at secularcenterusa@gmail.com and ask any other questions that you might have!

Why should I donate to SCUSA?

You will be supporting SCUSA charitable programs as well as other specifically non-theist charitable programs.    All SCUSA programs are charitable and/or educational in nature and are designed to further our vision and mission. 

Where do my donations go?

Your donations go entirely to support our charitable programs and cover our administrative costs.  SCUSA does not have any paid employees and our Board of Directors are volunteers.  This means that we have a very low administrative budget. 

Your donations will help us increase the visibility of the secular community through positive actions.  Some of our programs to do this are:

• billboards and other ads in Houston (in cooperation with the Houston Freethought Alliance and United Coalition of Reason)
• local community centers: a place where non-believers can meet, socialize, and educate the community through volunteer programs
• secular support groups for those who have recently become non-theists, skeptics, or agnostics
• expanding our programs to other parts of the country

What are your administrative costs?

Our administrative costs include office supplies (paper, business cards, etc.), telephone, and internet.

What specific programs can I support?

We are currently raising funds for Camp Quest Texas and we are a member of the www.kiva.org Atheist, Agnostic, etc. Team.  We are also raising funds toward a community center located in Houston, TX.   You may designate your donation to fund any of these programs if you like.  Just click on 'Special Instructions to the Seller' and specify your instructions in the box.

Are there any other ways I can donate?

Yes!  You may e-mail us at secularcenterusa@gmail.com for our mailing address and send us a check or money order through the mail.  You may also give a donation in person to any of our representatives.
