Our Vision
We will work to achieve an accepted, coordinated, productive, and valued non-theist community.
Our Mission
To mobilize secular volunteers to contribute toward improving our communities, to coordinate non-theist charitable efforts, and to increase awareness and acceptance of our worldview, contributions, and values.
SCUSA's Goals
Our Primary Goals
1. To improve conditions for the disadvantaged, to care for our environment, and to contribute to other charitable causes in our local communities.
2. To provide learning, skill development, and growth opportunities for those in need.
3. To unite Humanists, Freethinkers, Atheists, and other non-theists in community service.
Short-Term Vision The SECULAR Center will primarily be a place for godless groups in our community to meet, organize, and it will allow us to volunteer at an Atheist charity dedicated to furthering community education about rational thought systems. We would like to start up our first community center by purchasing or leasing a physical location in Houston, TX that will provide services to needy groups, such as the physically and mentally disabled members of our community, students, and families. These services can include finding jobs, applying for government assistance, and finding other physical and mental health resources. |
Long-Term Vision
To branch out into the rest of the USA and eventually the world by starting SECULAR centers in various communities which will serve different sectors of the population by providing secular community services to various groups such as the physically and mentally disabled, the homeless, veterans, and children and families. Each center will primarily be a location where secular groups such as atheists, humanists, agnostics, and others can meet and share ideas. Each center will have pamphlets and educational materials to help educate the public about atheist belief systems.
